Poland Urges Action Over Alleged Israeli Soldier War Crimes Claims
As stated by reports, Sikorski made the remarks on the social media platform X, saying that Israeli soldiers had acknowledged actions that included the killing of Palestinian civilians and even their own hostages.
He also noted that it was appropriate for Israel’s foreign minister to issue a swift apology, adding that “there was something to apologize for,” in reference to recent statements made by Israeli officials.
According to reports, Sikorski urged that any individuals involved should face punishment and that broader institutional lessons should be learned regarding military conduct and training practices.
As stated by reports, the comments come amid ongoing tensions following repeated ceasefire violations in Gaza. Authorities in Gaza have accused Israel of thousands of violations since the October truce agreement, including killings, arrests, and continued restrictions on aid and movement.
Reports further indicate that Gaza’s Health Ministry has documented thousands of casualties linked to continued hostilities, while the wider conflict has caused extensive destruction across the territory’s infrastructure and civilian areas.
